Jono Gooley: Vertex Vortex

Raum 1

Exhibition May 4-8, 2017

Vernissage May 4 19:00 Uhr

Finissage May 8 19:00 Uhr

Comprised of oil paintings, Vertex Vortex examines the patterns and structures in nature that govern earth and life; the Platonic solids, the Fibonacci sequence and the torus. Tracing these from macro through to micro, this series highlights the fundamental geometric arrangements that are being disregarded and destroyed. The balance and symmetry of the five Platonic solids are used as a motif for all that is perfect and whole. Interpretations of the flow of energy based on the torus shape demonstrate how this pattern is produced on every level; from atomic to galactic. Vertex Vortex utilizes canvases with a panoramic format, forcing viewers to step back and look at the bigger picture.
