Takashi Hokoi / Artist in Residence

EXHIBITION: February 19 - 21 2026 (19.02 - 21.02.2026)

VERNISSAGE: Thursday Feb 19th 6PM-9PM (19.02 18:00-21:00)

LiTE-HAUS hosts Japanese artist Takashi Hokoi for his art residency in Berlin where he continues his exploration of the relationship between nature, energy, and people from various perspectives, using the motif of wind as a theme.

Combining science and art, he is currently working hard researching and experimenting with technology to create an exhibition that is thought provoking, educational, approachable, and beautiful.

Takashi Hokoi completed the Graduate School of Fine Arts at Tokyo University of the Arts and went on to work as a cameraman for NHK's Fukushima bureau. It is there, experiencing the Great East Japanese Earthquake and tsunami, that he filmed the devastation. This experience, and the explosion at the nuclear power plant made him think about energy; how it is created, transported, and consumed. Currently living between Fukushima and Tokyo, he aims to create art while being grateful for the nature that allows him to live and use its energy.

Come hear what he has to say about environmental art, and see some of his new experiments, photography, and art.
