ROB CONNOLLY

ARTIST RESIDENCY + EXHIBITION

LiTE-HAUS hosts a monthly intensive artist residency program inviting artists from all over the world to work in the project space and exhibit in the galerie.

Artist Rob Connolly joins us in May to continue his project "Dolls for Mountain Men".

Connolly is a multidisciplinary visual artist and filmmaker based between Los Angeles and Toronto. Trained in Industrial Design at NC State University, Connolly went on to earn his MFA in Film Production from the University of Southern California. His films have screened at major festivals around the world.

His current practice moves between sculpture, textiles and film to explore the tension between concealment and expression of personal identity. These works reimagine fly-fishing lures as large, textile-based sculptures that explore the quiet intersections of masculinity, queerness and craft in rural life.

Connolly's goal during this residency is to push this work beyond its early experiments—expanding his sculptural language through new materials and techniques.
