JOACHIM RAMIN

22. Jul - 25. Aug 2021

HOURS: Tuesday - Saturday 13:00-19:00

Hygiene protocols enforced.

Berlin artist Joachim Ramin left behind a career in Architecture to create art full time in 2012.

His intensive artistic focus revolves around his engagement with light, sculpture and material - in particular with aluminum, acrylic (epoxy resin casting) and mirrors.

Light is information. It changes or contradicts, reproduces or reinforces the statement and meaning of the individual or the objects and topics involved.

Working from his Leipzig studio, Ramin creates sculptures by recreating and alienating things and topics like an architect constructs his buildings.

He was a member of the artist group Figure and Space with Prof. Bernd Berner (1981-1983), and studied architecture (1983-1989) in the master class of Professor Wilhelm Holzbauer at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna.
