This is an exhibition of original artist toys handmade by a group of international artists from India, Pakistan, Estonia, Java, UK and Europe. Artworks use the aesthetic language and the interactive element of play, but they also hint at the complexity of life in modern society. Social, economic and political issues such as feminism, gender identity, religion, urban versus rural, etcetera are just some of the topics that underpin the works in the show. The show is comprised of videos, paintings and toys made out of diverse materials such as human hair, barbie dolls, wooden blocks, coloring books, lego music machines, flick books and many more! Some toys are interactive and invite the visitor to indulge in the childlike sense of play. This exhibition is curated and organized by Rekha Sameer. Click here for full details and schedule.
