Listening Session #1

Thursday 31. Jan 2019

7pm - 9pm | 19:00 - 21:00 Uhr

LiTE-HAUS began it's fourth year in Berlin. We've met some colorful people and look forward to another year of collaborating with the creative community in Germany and beyond. But we want to do more. We want to hear from you - our Neukölln neighbors.

On Thursday, January 31st - right after the 6pm Artist Talk by Mindscape Universe - we will host our first "Listening Session" from 7pm-9pm.

This event is an informal gathering of artists, neighbors, newcomers, and small business owners. We will discuss things that impact life in Berlin, and especially in Neukölln.

Listening to you - our community - will better help us create programs and exhibitions about topics that interest you. We want to develop meaningful workshops. Your input is very important! Help us help you! We believe art builds bridges between cultures, gender, and age.

The listening session will be lead by David C. Terry.

Terry is a working artist, independent curator and cultural producer living and working in both Berlin and New York. He is currently the Artistic Director and Curator at C24 Gallery in New York. Recently Terry was a visiting faculty member at Bard College, Berlin. Prior to Bard, Terry was the Director and Curator of Grants and Exhibitions at the New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) overseeing the Grants, Curatorial/Exhibition, Residency and Alumni Programs.Terry has curated over 100 exhibitions and productions internationally, and his professional career covers a wide range of curatorial, artistic, administrative and academic experience. He has taught a variety of classes including objective and figurative drawing, abstract and figurative sculpture, portraiture and environmental and site-specific sculpture to students of all age ranges.

Currently on exhibit is the photography and video of art collective Mindscape Universe. Come see this exhibition, and share your thoughts with our team.

This session will be conducted in English, with German translations available. Children and pets are welcome. Tell a friend! Bring a friend! This is a free event. No tickets needed, but please RSVP https://www.facebook.com/events/821326224872244/
