EinsHochZwei

Almut Iser und Carlo Nordloh haben zwar zur gleichen Zeit an der Hochschule der Künste in Berlin studiert, sich aber erst später auf einer Zugfahrt nach Bremen richtig kennengelernt. Ausgangspunkte der teilweise großformatigen Bilder von Almut Iser sind meist Textfragmente oder Begegnungen mit Menschen. Deswegen ist eines ihrer wichtigsten Themen neben der Schrift das Porträt. Schrift und Bildmotive gehen häufig eine Synthese ein. Sie malt und zeichnet mit Acryl-, Öl- und Aquarellfarben auf Leinwand oder Papier, ihre Farben sind meist kräftig und ausdrucksstark, die Farbkonzepte sind vielfältig.

 

Das Element der Schrift taucht auch in den Arbeiten von Carlo Nordloh auf. Er zeigt zum einen Werke, die in Kooperation mit der chinesischen Künstlerin Shaqi Zhi im Kunstteam CarloSharkArt entstanden sind. Traditionelle chinesische Kalligrafie und Malerei wird verbunden mit Fotoausdrucken auf Leinwand und Acrylfarbe. Traditionelles wird in einen neuen, modernen gestalterischen Zusammenhang gebracht, gleichzeitig sind die Bilder visuelle Dialoge der beiden Künstler aus unterschiedlichen Kulturkreisen.

Des Weiteren zeigt Carlo Nordloh eigene Arbeiten auf Leinwand und Papier, Skizzen, Federzeichnungen entstanden in Paris und Marrakech. Sie sind eine sehr persönliche Dokumentation seiner Begegnung mit diesen beiden Orten.

Die Ausstellung „EinsHochZwei“ im LiTE-HAUS ist ihre erste gemeinsame Ausstellung. Ihre Arbeiten treten dabei hier erstmals in einen Dialog.

Although Almut Iser and Carlo Nordloh studied at Hochschule der Künste in Berlin at the same time, they only got to know each other later on a train journey to Bremen. The starting points of Almut Iser's paintings, some of them large-format, are mostly text fragments or encounters with people. That is why one of her most important topics, apart from writing, is the portrait. Typefaces and pictorial motifs often enter into a synthesis. She paints and draws with acrylic, oil and watercolor paints on canvas or paper, her colors are usually strong and expressive, the color concepts are diverse.

The element of the script also appears in the works of Carlo Nordloh. On the one hand, it shows works created in cooperation with the Chinese artist Shaqi Zhi in the art team CarloSharkArt. Traditional Chinese calligraphy and painting is associated with photo prints on canvas and acrylic paint.
 

The traditional is brought into a new, modern creative context; at the same time the images are visual dialogues of the two artists from different cultures. Furthermore, Carlo Nordloh shows his own works on canvas and paper, sketches, pen drawings created in Paris and Marrakesh. They are a very personal documentation of his encounter with these two places.

The exhibition at LiTE-HAUS is their first exhibition together. For the first time, their works enter here into a dialogue.
